How to Download Java

Java Strings

For example, to create a string in Java:

In this code, we declare a string variable greeting and print it to the console.

Java also offers various methods for manipulating strings:

  • length(): Returns the length of the string.
  • toUpperCase(): Converts all characters in the string to uppercase.
  • substring(int start, int end): Extracts a portion of the string.

Java Arrays

An array in Java is a data structure used to store multiple values in a single variable. Arrays can hold both primitive types and objects, and they are zero-indexed, meaning the first element is at index 0.

Example of an array:

In this example, the array numbers contains five integers. You can access each element by referring to its index.

Java Lists

Java also provides more flexible data structures like Lists, which are part of the java.util package. Unlike arrays, lists can grow in size dynamically. You can add, remove, and manipulate elements easily.

To use a list in Java:
